Physics: New Detectors and Application Specific Nuclear Medicine Imaging Systems

Educational objectives:
  1. Understand the principle of the new detectors
  2. Have knowledge about the clinical use of the new types of detectors
  3. Understand the basic principle of different imaging systems for myocardial perfusion imaging
  4. Have knowledge about the impact on image quality, imaging time and/or administered activity that the new imaging systems for myocardial perfusion have
  5. Understand the basic principle of handheld probes and mini-cameras
  6. Have knowledge about the clinical use of handheld probes and mini-cameras
Summary:
The session will highlight the recent development of new detector systems for imaging, how they are applied in clinical use and the impact they have on image quality, imaging time and radiation protection for patients and staff.
