Diagnosis and Therapy in MTC (Medullary Thyroid Cancer) and NET (Neuroendocrine Tumors)

Educational objectives:
Interactive presentation of real cases of patients with neuroendocrine tumors and medullary thyroid carcinoma

The aims are:
Interactive presentation of real cases of patients with neuroendocrine tumors and medullary thyroid carcinoma

  • To understand the added value of Nuclear Medicine procedures
  • To understand the impact of clinical, endocrinological and oncological information regarding to diagnostic tools and therapeutic options

Summary:
The presentations will cover the current and potential role of nuclear medicine in diagnosis and therapy of neuroendocrine tumors and medullary thyroid cancer.
Indications and imaging protocols of PET – CT, different radiotracers as well as endocrinological and oncological issues will be given.
The session will also address the particularities and main results of nuclear medicine as well as conventional imaging modalities in neuroendocrine tumors.
Voting systems will allow the attendees to express the opinions and to evaluate skills and edit information in this field.
