Interactive Bone & Joint: Skeletal Scintigraphy Today – Accurate Diagnosis of Bone Disease with Therapeutic Impact

Educational Objectives:
  1. Introduce the attendees to the technique and potential clinical applications of SPECT/CT quantification.
  2. Discuss the advantages of whole-body SPECT as possible replacement of planar imaging.
  3. Provide an overview of the most useful applications of SPECT/CT in clinical practice.
  4. Summarize the progress in SPECT/CT instrumentation improving resolution and reflect on future developments.
Summary:
Skeletal scintigraphy remains the mainstay procedure in many nuclear medicine departmentsand  the  technique  has  witnessed  a  revolution  with  the  introduction  of  SPECT/CT.  Latesttechnical advances in SPECT/CT imaging that may herald further clinical breakthroughs includequantification, improved sensitivity and resolution, and whole-body SPECT capabilities. In thisCME session the current clinical applications and benefits of bone SPECT/CT are summarized,and  the  attendees  will  be  introduced  to  the  novel  and  upcoming  concepts  in  SPECT/CTmethodology.
