Educational objectives:
  1. Description of the key clinical features and therapeutic options of inflammatory bowel disease in children and adults
  2. Overview of endoscopic, radiological and nuclear medicine possibilities to diagnose IBD
  3. Description of differences in diagnostic possibilities of IBD between adults and children
Summary:

This session is dedicated to the evaluation and diagnostic workup of inflammatory bowel disease in children and adults. The basic clinical features and therapeutic options will be reviewed. Various diagnostic methods will be mentioned with a focus on magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine techniques and microscopial endoscopy. The features of these methods will be presented, as well as their  integration in patient management, their added value and impact on therapeutic decisions will be discussed.
